Lawmakers to Consumers: ‘You’re Dummies’

Dunce Cap

This kind of attitude is right in line with the Illuminati standard that since Humans are imbeciles and incapable of doing what needs to be done, THEY will form the New World Order and TELL us what to do.

For anyone new to the REAL news, this is what you see currently unfolding in society.

The shadow government/cabal/New World Order/Illuminati is creating laws at will to support their agenda for our complete control and domination. We have little say in the matter now because we didn’t care enough to make our stand in the past and handed them all the power they wanted. Now, they just TAKE it.

This isn’t only about labeling, but to focus on this one element of the political agenda, I would have but one retort for them and echo Obama’s statement that ‘if they have nothing to hide, then they have nothing to fear.’

We DEMAND to know what is in our food or we won’t buy it.  Insult us all you want, take States to court who demand it on our behalf and spend your millions on disinformation campaigns to sway the public, but we WILL have our foods labeled in every country on the globe.

To aid in Humanity’s fight to preserve their safe food chain, you can boycott the following companies and hit them where it hurts; their bottom line.

OUR bottom line is this: GMO foods are killing people, just as they killed and maimed animal test subjects in trials that they lied about. Get them out of our food chain ~ BP

The “experts” have spoken, and here’s what they have to say: You’re just too stupid to handle a label on your food that says “this product contains genetically engineered ingredients.”

Members (see the list here) of the subcommittee on Horticulture, Research, Biotechnology, and Foreign Agriculture, along with four of their hand-picked puppets (um, experts), met last week to pat themselves on the back for the great job GMO crops and foods are doing of feeding the world, providing better nutrition and slashing the use of pesticides.

Yep, they’re all doing a heckuva job. Except that they aren’t.

But the best part of their meeting was the part where they insulted you and every other educated consumer who believes that, at the very least, you should have the right to know if your food contains GMOs.

Here’s what one of the experts—Dr. David Just, Co-Director, Cornell Center for Behavioral Economics in Child Nutrition Programs”—said at last week’s meeting:

It is ignorance of the product, and it’s a general skepticism of anything they eat that is too processed or treated in some way that they don’t quite understand.

Oh, we understand, alright. Dr. Just works for Cornell, which is on Monsanto’s payroll. Just like half the lawmakers in Washington who rode there on Monsanto’s dime.

Action Alert

—Stupid Talk—Rodney Davis

Rep. Rodney Davis (R-Ill.-13), (pictured) acting chairman of the House Agriculture Committee’s Subcommittee on Horticulture, Research, Biotechnology and Foreign Agriculture, convened a public hearing last week to “consider the benefits” of biotechnology.

The attendees”—members of the subcommittee and their so-called “experts”—gushed over the wonderfulness of toxic, chemical-drenched crops and foods. But what they were really trying to figure out was how to sell the same old lies about Monsanto’s Empire to “ignorant” consumers who “just don’t understand” GMOs.

We think we should let Rep. Davis, and all the members of the subcommittee, and all their bankrolled “experts,” know that they can insult us all they want”—but they can’t fool us. Monsanto has not only failed to deliver on promises of higher yields, better nutrition, fewer chemicals and happier farmers. But the Gene Giant is also poisoning our food and fields.

We’ve provided all the names of the subcommittee members, and the experts, in case your representative is on the subcommittee, and you want to contact him or her individually.

TAKE ACTION: Tell the subcommittee on Horticulture, Research, Biotechnology, and Foreign Agriculture that you’re not too stupid to understand a GMO label!

Call the subcommittee on Horticulture, Research, Biotechnology, and Foreign Agriculture and tell members you’re no dummy! 202-225-2171

Monsanto Loses GMO Labeling Battle in Vermont

From the Organic Consumers Association…  Humanity 50 points; Cabal ZERO!!!

Victory in Vermont!

Earth Day is coming up next Tuesday. This year, Mother Earth has at least one thing to celebrate—the beginning of the end of Monsanto’s evil empire.

Yesterday, Vermont passed H.112, this country’s first no-strings-attached law requiring the mandatory labeling of GMOs (genetically modified organisms), and outlawing the practice of labeling GMO-contaminated foods as “natural” or “all-natural.”

With the passage of the Vermont GMO labeling law, after 20 years of struggle, it’s time to celebrate our common victory. But as we all know, the battle for a new food and farming system, and a sustainable future has just begun.

Monsanto will likely sue Vermont. And lose. And the Gene and Junk Food Giants will still try to pass a federal law intended to strip Vermont, and every other state, of the right to pass GMO labeling laws.

But we will fight back. And we will win.

Victory! Kroger and Safeway Say NO to GM Salmon: Will Costco Be Next?

I don’t know about you, but this makes me very happy. I rarely buy fish any more because I’m afraid it’s farmed and dangerous. (sorry—that just came out, and I liked it!).

I occasionally buy fish labeled “wild-caught”, but not as often as I’d like to eat fish as so much of it is loaded with heavy metals and other toxins. Cold-water fish from the deep south or northern waters is my preference.

If you feel strongly about the salmon issue, you can sign the petition below to encourage Costco to follow suit. If you choose not to sign the petition, you could do yourself a favour and cast your vote by refusing to buy Costco salmon. ~ BP

Kroger (Fry’s) and Safeway–the #1 and #2 U.S. conventional grocery chains–have just joined other major retailers like Target, Meijer, Aldi, Giant Eagle, Whole Foods and many others in protecting consumers, wild salmon and the environment by rejecting GE salmon, but there are many companies who still haven’t responded.

So, who’s next?

Costco is one of the largest retailers of salmon and seafood in the U.S. and is one of the last large retailers that hasn’t made a commitment not to sell GE salmon.

Sign the petition here, urging Costco to join its competitors and commit to keeping GE salmon off its shelves.

Breaking: Monsanto Strikes Back — Please Act Now

Stop Monsanto’s Secret Plan to Kill GMO Labeling

Right now Monsanto and giant food companies are scheming behind the scenes to introduce a bill in Congress that would kill mandatory state GMO labeling efforts and replace it with a gutted version of a bill to preempt states’ rights and give the illusion of serious regulation.

This plan is so devious that it radically speeds up the approval process for new GMO crops, limits the FDA and USDA’s ability to extend premarket safety reviews, declares GMO foods “safe” and redefines genetically engineered foods as “bioengineered” in order to sanitize this deeply flawed technology to the American public.

Even worse, the proposed bill only requires a federal GMO “label on any products” from GMO plants “if those ingredients present a health or safety risk” – something the U.S. government has refused to admit for more than 20 years! Think they’re going to start telling the truth about GMOs now?

This is a blatant power grab to deny Americans their basic right to mandatory GMO labeling and protect flawed GMO products – and we can’t allow them to get away with it. We need your help today. Every voice counts!

PLEASE CLICK THIS LINK TO ADD YOUR NAME TO THIS INITIATIVE!  and read more…  Thank you

Below is the email I received.  ~ BP

This is one of the most important emails that we will ever send. We’ve been hearing rumors about this for months, but Monsanto and the GMA have made their move.

Two days ago, Food Democracy Now! received an unpublished copy of Monsanto and the Grocery Manufacturers Association’s (GMA) secret plan to try to sneak in a toothless piece of legislation that would eliminate federal mandatory GMO labeling, give the illusion of serious regulation, usurp states’ rights to pass similar bills and call for “voluntary” labeling of GMOs based on fraudulent criteria.

The 5-page document details the 7 main provisions of the proposed bill and contains 3 pages of Monsanto and GMA talking points that outline their secret plan to undermine states’ rights, subverting both democracy and the will of the people, 90% of whom support GMO labeling.

Make no mistake about it, this is an outrageous powergrab to deny Americans their basic right to GMO labeling and protect flawed GMO products – and we can’t allow them to get away with it.

Tell Congress and FDA: Don’t betray the American public on GMO labeling. Demand mandatory labeling of genetically engineered foods and don’t let Congress destroy our only hope of protecting our families, our farms and our food from untested and unlabeled GMO food! Every voice counts.

http://action.fooddemocracynow.org/go/1185?t=7&akid=1124.453964.f2A5dZ

This proposal is much more dangerous to our basic rights to know what’s in our food than the Monsanto Protection Act and will enshrine the false idea that GMOs are proven safe in federal legislation.

This past fall, Food Democracy Now! warned that Congressman Fred Upton (R-MI) planned to sneak in a bill to preempt states’ rights to label GMOs, but this proposed bill is much worse than we imaged. After 20,000 phone calls from Food Democracy Now! members like you, his office caved, but now they’re back!

Will Congress and the FDA Succeed in Killing GMO Labeling? Only if we let them!

If allowed to pass, the current proposal “would create a uniform, national program” to outlaw any state labeling bill and render federal legislation on GMO labeling meaningless.

According to an outline of the proposal, published in Politico earlier this week, this proposed bill only requires a federal GMO “label on any products” from GMO plants “if those ingredients present a health or safety risk.” Something the U.S. government has refused to admit for more than 20 years! Think they’re going to start telling the truth about GMOs now?

At the same time, the proposal calls for the creation of a “national standard for voluntary labels” and would allow the FDA to define “natural” as containing genetically engineered ingredients (GMOs).  Monsanto’s and the GMA’s new secret plan would also create a federal voluntary label to say “GMO-Free”, something no individuals are asking for, but some companies want to be able to use it to deceive the American public.

Tell Congress it’s time for mandatory labeling of genetically engineered foods! We can’t allow Monsanto and Big Food companies to continue to hide GMO ingredients from the American public. Take action now!

The real lynchpin of Monsanto’s Secret Federal Preemption Proposal is buried in Section 103, which states:

“The provision would also authorize the FDA to develop regulations for the voluntary labeling of the presence of bioengineered ingredients in food products…Under the mandatory program, FDA would have the authority to mandate special labeling to address any material difference that could affect health and safety or cause consumer deception.

Has the FDA ever admitted potential health risks from GMOs publicly? Not once! Think they’ll start now?

Monsanto and Giant Food Companies in a Panic as GMO Labeling Spreads

The fact is that Monsanto and the GMA are reeling from having spent more than $70 million in the past 2 years to kill GMO labeling in ballot initiatives in California and Washington only to narrowly defeat us by 49 to 51% after running some of the most deceptive political ad campaigns in modern history.

In reality, the GMO labeling movement has already succeeded in passing GMO labeling bills in Connecticut and Maine last year and with more than 25 GMO labeling bills in state legislatures across the country, Monsanto and giant food companies are in a panic.

Right now we have Monsanto and friends on the run, but the past several months have seen a major ramping up of their propaganda in the mainstream press.

You are now on the frontline to defend against the massive abusive of corporate power and collusion with our elected officials. We can’t allow this outrageus plan to preempt states’ rights and kill GMO labeling to succeed. Please stand with us today!

Right now is the critical window where we need to stand together to stop Monsanto and these corrupt corporations from trying to betray our basic democratic rights once again.

Please stand with us to help stop Monsanto and Big Food companies from corrupting our laws and democratic process. Every voice counts!

I-522: Too Close to Call

Here’s a more encouraging outlook from the Organic Consumers Association. Visualize our victory, please!  ~ BP

Dear Organic Consumer,

We’ve been waiting for this day since the signatures for the I-522 GMO Labeling ballot initiative were turned in in February.

But we’re going to have to wait a little longer.

Yes, initial results show the YES on I-522 campaign—your campaign—trailing.

But remember: Washington State is a vote-by-mail state. Hundreds of thousands of votes, mailed in at the last minute, have not yet been counted.

According to some reports, up to 60 percent of the vote is not reflected in election-night results.

It could be days, maybe a week or more, before we know the outcome of this vote. And even then, no matter which way the vote swings, it could be subject to a recount.

We’re anxious to know the final outcome. We promise to keep you updated along the way.

In the meantime,  this movement grows stronger every day. This battle is far from over.

And no matter what the outcome,  your support has motivated us, heartened us and, frankly, dazzled us.Thank you.

In solidarity,

Ronnie Cummins
National Director

Mexico Bans GMO Corn

The whole world is banning GMOs and Monsanto and in the US we can’t even get people to vote for mandatory labeling of GMOs. Duh!  ~ BP

Mexico Bans GMO Corn

A ruling by a judge in Mexico City has suspended the planting of genetically modified corn in our country.

“The issue at hand relates to cultivation,” Andrew Conner, manager of global technology for the U.S. Grains Council told Agriculture.com Wednesday. “We’ve been tracking this for quite a while to make sure it doesn’t spill over into trade barriers.”

“In the case of Mexico, we have no reason to believe that what is happening now, with the ruling of the judge, will spill over and affect imports,” Conner said.

Mexico usually ranks second behind Japan as the largest export market for U.S. corn.

GMO Corn

GMO Corn

The release of genetically modified corn is a controversial issue in Mexico, the birthplace of corn, home to scores of traditional corn varieties. And scientists have found low levels of modified genes in native corn, even though a moratorium on planting genetically modified corn has been in effect since 1998.

The Mexican government has been moving toward approval of planting genetically modified corn in an effort to increase the crop’s production in a nation that imports almost a third of the corn it consumes, mostly for livestock feed.

Last July, a coalition of 53 groups and individuals, including scientists, activists and human rights groups, filed suit to block field trials of genetically modified corn planned by most of the major international corn seed companies in Mexico.

The ruling, which is a suspension, was considered a major victory for the groups because it was the first time Mexican courts were willing to weigh in on the debate over risks and benefits of this technology.

The judge cited the risk of imminent harm to the environment as the basis for his decision.

Mexico’s Secretary of Agriculture, Enrique Martinez y Martinez, told the newspaper, El Economista, that the agriculture department has always planned to base its decisions regarding the field testing of genetically modified corn based on scientific criteria. But, the delays and litigation is now in the hands of attorneys and, for the moment, there will be no more permits.

Depending on how the litigation plays out, and whether it becomes a trade issue, this latest development may actually increase U.S. corn exports to Mexico.
